FREE FIRE WOOD AT COMPOST STATION

The Fishers Island Wastemangement District would is giving back to the community by providing free split fire wood for your fireplace, wood stove, outdoor fire pit, beach fires/bonfires.

The wood is located by the Bulkyhouse hold and Metal drop off area. Please ask attendants before taking. Also please take small amounts as needed so that everyone gets to enjoy some. You can use the wood for your fireplace, wood stove, outdoor fire pit, or if you want to have a bonfire. The types of wood is all mix, from cherry trees, pine (better for outdoor use), locus, maple, etc. As you pick from the pile please try to keep it neat. thank you and enjoy.

Compost Station and FIWM Office will be CLOSED on Monday May 29, 2012. Memorial Day.

The Transfer Station will be OPEN regular hours:
7:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm

TRANSFER STATION NEW SCHEDULE:

Mondays:
7:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays:
7:30 am to 12:30 pm

CLOSED Tuesdays and Thursdays

FIWMD is doing research to try to inform you and give you options as to what to do with your E-Waste.

Right now one of the best options is Best Buy. Here is their link, it explains what they take at no cost to the consumer.
