Fishers Island Waste Management Tax District (FIWM) is committed to the safe and efficient disposal of household garbage, furniture, appliances, recyclables, construction waste, yard and landscaping debris. As a taxpayer-supported commission, its affairs are conducted transparently and in public (except where confidentiality is legally required). The commissioners and staff agree that they shall be held to a strict code of conduct that ensures taxpayers benefit in the most efficient way possible from the expenditures of funds.
